The Safety Beach-Dromana Men’s Shed was originally formed at the site of the Don Bosco Camp in Dromana Parade, Safety Beach around June 2012, following an invitation by Don Bosco to open a Men’s Shed at that location. However, due to a change of policy by Don Bosco the hunt began in 2015 for a new site at which to create a permanent home for the local community shed.

With the support of Mornington Peninsula Shire, which offered a lease of a suitable site at the Dromana Recretaion Reserve, the members set about the huge task of funding the construction and fitout of a purpose built Shed.

Thanks in particular to generous sponsorship from Bendigo Bank, All Saints Opportunity Shop, Hillview Quarries and The Peninsula Club to name a few, the funds needed to build the Shed were raised and construction began early in 2016. The Shed was formally opened in November 2017.
